Thinking about Peace

Written by

Sometimes it seemed that to change this society, so that we wouldn't be just numbers anymore in our class enemy's instrumental statistics, but a real opponent, so that history would lead a man like comandante Manuel Marulanda to build a strong popular power from below and fight, often only with the force of moral, against enemies who have infinitely greater resources, was impossible;

The Pot Calling the Kettle Black

On Tuesday 12th of May, president Santos said on television that he had facilitated the conditions for a meeting between the FARC-EP and the ELN on Cuba (http://reliefweb.int/report/colombia/santos-colombias-eln-met-farc-cuba). FARC's Commander in Chief, Timoleón Jiménez, wrote the following reflections on Juan Manuel Santos' statements, which we translated into English.

The FARC-EP is not only an armed structure or a military organization. We are the merging of heterogeneous initiatives of popular struggle, active in different areas of Colombia.
