For over 10 days there has been a formidable mobilization of men and women resolutely committed to the consolidation of peace for Colombia.
The arrival to these zones represents a step forward in the road toward the normalization of the country and the beginning of the preparation for what should be the process of reincorporation of the combatants to civilian life in the economic, political and social aspects including the decommissioning of weapons. It is a very important step in the road of the implementation of the agreements.
The implementation is equally binding to the signatory parties according to the commitments acquired by each one of them. For this reason, while we report on our irrevocable will and decision to fully comply with the agreement, we cannot fail to point out our surprise at the conditions of delay or total lack of infrastructural logistics in all the Zones of the country.
It causes outrage to hear the declarations of Government Officials who lie through mass media affirming that there are advances in the construction of these Zones, when the reality is that the common denominator in all of them is the lack of drinking water, showers and toilets, as well as the lack of accommodation infrastructure, adequate places for the preparation and consumption of food and the poor condition of roadways. Fortunately, some media outlets have honored the truth in a professional manner by reporting the real situation that is lived in these Zones, thus showing the contradiction in the statements made by State officials.
The situation of babies and women in pregnancy is particularly dramatic, victims of official indolence who condemns them to remain conditions that constitute a risk to their health.
In light of this situation, we call for the solidarity of the whole country and the international community, human rights organizations, women's and children rights organizations to speak out and mobilize against the inexplicable State apathy.
The construction of peace has its fundamental pillar in the implementation and compliance of the agreements signed by the parties.
Since peace is a conquest of the Colombian people, government non-compliance affects society as a whole, which is why we call on all the different social sectors to demand the compliance of the agreements signed by the Government.
