This past Saturday 17th of June, a bomb was set in the Andino shopping mall in Bogotá, Colombia, leaving 3 dead and 9 injured. The following is the Communiqué of the FARC-EP regarding this tragic event.

Declaration:

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (FARC-EP) deeply lament and reject the attack at the Andino Shopping Mall in the city of Bogotá, which killed and wounded innocent people.

We firmly condemn this event and demand the Colombian State to develop a thorough investigation to achieve prompt and full justice to this painful tragedy that brings grief on our people. We send our voice of support to the families of the victims, and to the whole country not to give up in the construction of peace.

The practical effect of this premeditated action can only benefit those who are interested in hampering the search for peace and reconciliation between the Colombian people who have already suffered too much and who wish not to repeat these sad episodes of our history.

To Colombia and the world we say that the FARC-EP will persist in the construction of a country in peace. To the enemies of peace we tell them that we will not give up in the search for a Colombia in which all of those who hope to have reconciled country can all coexist in peace and with social justice. Long live peace and reconciliation among Colombians.

Secretariat of the Central High Command of the FARC EP
