In several villages of Putumayo, including Orito, Puerto Guzman, Puerto Asis, Puerto Caicedo, Valle del Guamuez and San Miguel, anxiety and concern are increasing among rural, indigenous and Afro-descendent communities, because of the eradication of illicit crops with glyphosate, carried out by troops of the National Army.

Among the main problems, the communities report conflicts between soldiers and inhabitants, illegal raids, mass arrests, burning of homes and detentions at army checkpoints on the roads. In Puerto Guzman "military propaganda documents of the Mobile Brigade 13 were found, in which people were identified as part of the Network of  Support for Terrorism," according to the latest statement made by Marcha Patriótica.
