This body complied with what was agreed in Havana and will have among its functions that of providing inputs and recommendations to the CSIVI in order to help ensure the incorporation of a transversal ethnic, gender, women, family and generation approach in the implementation and follow-up of the Final Agreement.
Likewise, other important tasks that this organization will have will be to follow up on the implementation of the agreements, in what corresponds to their communities, to maintain channels of communication between ethnic peoples and the CSIVI and to support the spreading, visibility and sharing of the Final Agreement.
In addition, being a consultative body, it can also be following the reparation of crimes committed against ethnic communities in the country, which have been affected by the use of methods such as displacement and massacres perpetrated by armed groups.
This body will be composed of 8 delegates, men and women, from organizations representative of ethnic peoples. The selection of these people will be made by the organizations that participated in the construction of the ethnic chapter in Havana and will have an operational life of two years.
After this time, delegates will be changed based on a mechanism proposed by the CSIVI.
