In an interview with Prensa Rural, FARC-EP commander Jairo Quintero spoke about the implementation of the Final Peace Agreement signed in Havana last November.

The voice of the FARC commanders is one as they reaffirm their commitment to the implementation of the peace process.

Jairo Quintero was the commander of the Bloque del Magdalena Medio of the FARC-EP and today he is a member of the National Council for the Reincorporation of the guerrillas to civilian life.

Jairo Quintero drew attention to the danger that paramilitarism poses to the implementation of the Peace Agreement. And he does so when news of yet another murder is received.

Although the circumstances of the new assassination are not clear, what it is certain is that Eduardo Gutierrez was killed in the morning of 9 April in Morales, south of the region of Bolivar.

According to Aheramigua that released the news, the social leader has allegedly been killed by soldiers of the National Army.

On the Prensa Rural website you can watch the video interview to Quintero in Spanish.

Veteran guerrilla Quintero stressed that despite the obstacles and difficulties in this process, peace is making its way in Colombia.
